August Week 4

Hey there Everyone! So this week has been interesting! On Thursday my companion and I went to the library to make programs for our investigators upcoming baptism!!! When we got there we no more than walked through the first set of two doors to get in and a man stopped us and talked to us for a bit. While we were talking, He asked us if we were hungry, and then he said "you'd better be cause you and I are going to dinner." he ended up taking us to Ihop where we later learned that he was a less active member for his own reasons and that he worked for border patrol and some other small talk. We finally got into a conversation where we talked about some really cool times he'd had in his life. Even cooler, he knew where Manti was. He said that he loves the temple there and he loves the area. It was fun to talk to him. During the morning we were asked to go and do a service project for a member and it all worked in perfectly. We helped him until it started raining (yay!!) and then we went and helped a family move in after the 20 minute or so rain... it was really cool to get to know the family and they are less active so we get to go and teach them as well. Its nice to be able to finally see some work come into play! Well, I can't tell you how grateful I am for obeying rules sometimes. They really can bless the lives of those people around you. I love to see all of the work here and the progression people are making. Well that's all for now!!! Hope everyone has a great week!!! Love, Elder Klynton Frederick

August Week 3

Hey everyone!!! Life in Arizona is great! Things are going well! Thanks to all of you who are praying for me! The time is speeding up out here. I feel like I was at the MTC a week ago and now I'm almost 7 months out!!! its amazing how short the time is becoming now... Well all is well in the lonely city of Sierra Vista.... There is more to not do than there is to do, however, God can't bless us for doing nothing, so, this last week I have really been thinking about this. I was sitting at my desk last Monday at the end of the week and really pondering what to do. My companion and I have one investigator and he is really solid but thats it. I know that there are so many people out there who need our help as missionaries but, its hard to go and work when you are so FAR away from everything. I was reading in the book of mormon in Alma when I read that Alma (the younger) and his companions were diligent even when it seemed all was lost. That really hit me (which if you know me doesn't happen often). I finally realized that it was more the diligence that God looks for in each of us that is why he tells us to ENDURE TO THE END. it is diligence that teaches... ok and the spirit. take the time to be diligent in His work this week. That is more important than almost anything else. Love always, Elder Klynton Frederick

August Week 2

Hey everyone! Its Elder Frederick here reporting from the cooler part of the southern half of Arizona! I am now in a little town (about the size of Mount Pleasant... and for those of you who have no idea how big that is... there are about 4500 people in the town I am in now. Its an average temperature here of about 20 degrees cooler than Tucson. Things are good! So story for the week. We have an investigator in the area who really is on top of things. He is amazing. The first time that the missionaries met with him he asked if he could be baptized! Personally I thought that was pretty amazing. We have been teaching him for about 2 weeks now and he is such a great guy. He owns a couple of motorcycles too!!! He keeps commitments and everystuff!!! Its really amazing to see how the lord has worked in his life so that he could have the chance to hear the gospel!! well other than that there isn't much to tell! Love you all! Elder Frederick

August Week 1

Hey there everyone! Well its transfers week and the good news... I got TRANSFERED!!!! YAY!!! So I won't lie I loved my old area but REALLY a quarter of my mission gone and in ONE area!!! That is hard. I know that it doesn't seem like it could be but as a missionary, you get the itch to move because that is just how it is. My new area is the Hereford ward in the Sierra Vista stake. My companions name is Elder Hurn.... I think... I haven't met him yet, but he seems cool. Best part of where I am... ITS GREEN!!! for the last 6 months I have been in an area that has been pretty brown and in the city, now... I"M IN THE STICKS!!! It almost feels like home... There's only one problem... I still can't enjoy a swimming pool. I will say that its actually cooler here by about 15-20 degrees on average than my last area and I'm a good 3000 feet higher in elevation. Its amazing what a little elevation can do for the soul. I know for a fact that my Heavenly Father loves me. If he didn't I'd either still be in the same place or somewhere a lot hotter. I know he heard my prayers cause its nice and cool and I'm probably going to be here for the next 6 weeks to 4 months and it will definately be nice. that just means I could be here till about christmas... wow... Time is really ticking.... I'd better get kicking. HAH! I'm a poet and.... well you get the jive.... So there's this week for you. Hope all is going well! Love you all! Elder Klynton Frederick
