September Week 4

Welcome to the Desert!!! What a week... So I had some experience in the last few weeks that has really changed my outlook on life. There has been a lot of things happen that have been good and bad.... So to all you missionaries out there (which should be all of you, we are member missionaries after all), don't have a camp/bon fire on your mission! You tend to get in trouble for things like that...... no need to go into detail just don't do it!!!!!! another thing.... Please keep a book of Mormon handy at all times. If not that then keep a few pass along cards handy. Continue to read the book of Mormon. I was at a dinner appointment last night and I bore a testimony of the book of Mormon I didn't know I had. There are some amazing things that go into the book. I truly know that The Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph Smith and that its record of the people in it is something that is truly worth the time it takes to read it and gain a testimony of. There is no other book that can bring you closer to your Heavenly Father than that and by abiding by its precepts.... Joseph Smith said that and I completely agree with him. Remember that The Book of Mormon is the keystone to our religion and by reading it and really praying about it can you gain a testimony that will never fail you. Hope everyone is doing well!!! September Week 3

Hey everyone!!! Well it was transfers yesterday and I thought I may as well tell you, I have a new companion. His name is Elder Sean Murphy. He is really a cool guy. We have a lot of the same taste in things... Its quite nice. Well unfortunately there isn't much going on here in Hererford. We have a couple of possible investigators but nothing really solid. So there is a verse of scripture that I was studying about and if you have a chance, check it out. its Alma 46. There is a lot to be said about Captain Moroni. He is an amazing man and really worth reading about. Take some time to really think about what he says through out this chapter. Well everything is still hot and gooey.... Take care this week and think about Moroni's example to us all. Elder Klynton Frederick

September Week 2

Hey there Everyone! This week has been really good, Thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday! I love you all miss you all!!! Well for this week there isn't much to tell.... as usual. Our investigator became a recent convert and now holds the priesthood. He is doing awesome and a very solid member. Gospel according to Elder Frederick for the week: There is a reason that we are taught to study the scriptures. When all else fails who do we generally go to in the home for support? Well it depends on the support we need, doesn't it? Well, where do we turn for support when no one can give us the answer we need? Heavenly Father. I was reading in 3 Nephi 13 and found some verses that really made me stop and think for a moment. Jesus Christ is teaching us about prayer and he also teaches something very profound. He recounts "The Lords Prayer" from the bible and teaches us that we need to pray. He also teaches us how we pray. Take some time to read 3 Nephi 13 and see what you can learn for yourself. Hope all is well!! Elder Klynton Frederick

September Week 1

Hey everyone!!! This week has been amazing. There have been some ups and downs but I want to concentrate on the up. On Saturday the 31st of August....Cant believe we're in august... already..... Mr. B was baptized by a friend of his that he's known for years. Wow... I don't even remember if I told you all about this one... Guess you'll just have to ask me in about 17 months.... hah... wow... anyway... so Mr. B got baptized and confirmed and... my goodness he had an amazing confirmation blessing. Probably one of the best I've heard. Things are going well here. Just living life and moving along!!! There isn't much to tell otherwise!!! Remember that Heavenly Father is always there for us. Even when we don't think He is. There is so much bad in this world and there really is no way we can withstand it with out his help. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church and the Book of Mormon is the keystone to all we hold dear. Hope you all have a great week!! Love you all! Elder Klynton Frederick

August Week 4

Hey there Everyone! So this week has been interesting! On Thursday my companion and I went to the library to make programs for our investigators upcoming baptism!!! When we got there we no more than walked through the first set of two doors to get in and a man stopped us and talked to us for a bit. While we were talking, He asked us if we were hungry, and then he said "you'd better be cause you and I are going to dinner." he ended up taking us to Ihop where we later learned that he was a less active member for his own reasons and that he worked for border patrol and some other small talk. We finally got into a conversation where we talked about some really cool times he'd had in his life. Even cooler, he knew where Manti was. He said that he loves the temple there and he loves the area. It was fun to talk to him. During the morning we were asked to go and do a service project for a member and it all worked in perfectly. We helped him until it started raining (yay!!) and then we went and helped a family move in after the 20 minute or so rain... it was really cool to get to know the family and they are less active so we get to go and teach them as well. Its nice to be able to finally see some work come into play! Well, I can't tell you how grateful I am for obeying rules sometimes. They really can bless the lives of those people around you. I love to see all of the work here and the progression people are making. Well that's all for now!!! Hope everyone has a great week!!! Love, Elder Klynton Frederick

August Week 3

Hey everyone!!! Life in Arizona is great! Things are going well! Thanks to all of you who are praying for me! The time is speeding up out here. I feel like I was at the MTC a week ago and now I'm almost 7 months out!!! its amazing how short the time is becoming now... Well all is well in the lonely city of Sierra Vista.... There is more to not do than there is to do, however, God can't bless us for doing nothing, so, this last week I have really been thinking about this. I was sitting at my desk last Monday at the end of the week and really pondering what to do. My companion and I have one investigator and he is really solid but thats it. I know that there are so many people out there who need our help as missionaries but, its hard to go and work when you are so FAR away from everything. I was reading in the book of mormon in Alma when I read that Alma (the younger) and his companions were diligent even when it seemed all was lost. That really hit me (which if you know me doesn't happen often). I finally realized that it was more the diligence that God looks for in each of us that is why he tells us to ENDURE TO THE END. it is diligence that teaches... ok and the spirit. take the time to be diligent in His work this week. That is more important than almost anything else. Love always, Elder Klynton Frederick

August Week 2

Hey everyone! Its Elder Frederick here reporting from the cooler part of the southern half of Arizona! I am now in a little town (about the size of Mount Pleasant... and for those of you who have no idea how big that is... there are about 4500 people in the town I am in now. Its an average temperature here of about 20 degrees cooler than Tucson. Things are good! So story for the week. We have an investigator in the area who really is on top of things. He is amazing. The first time that the missionaries met with him he asked if he could be baptized! Personally I thought that was pretty amazing. We have been teaching him for about 2 weeks now and he is such a great guy. He owns a couple of motorcycles too!!! He keeps commitments and everystuff!!! Its really amazing to see how the lord has worked in his life so that he could have the chance to hear the gospel!! well other than that there isn't much to tell! Love you all! Elder Frederick
